Athens Single-Member Court (Interim Measures) Decision No. 7858/2025: The Child’s Best Interests and Stability Prevail – Suspension of Parental Contact and Restraining Order

By Decision No. 7858/2025, the Athens Single-Member Court (Interim Measures) held that the best interests of the child and the need to ensure a safe and stable living environment take precedence over a parent’s right of contact where serious concerns exist regarding the child’s protection.

Accordingly, the Court ordered the suspension of the parent’s contact with the minor child and, in order to provide enhanced protection to both the mother and the child, also imposed a restraining order prohibiting the parent’s approach to them.

Our law firm successfully represented the case, presenting the factual circumstances and supporting evidence that demonstrated the necessity of these protective measures. The decision reaffirms that, in family law proceedings, the child’s best interests remain the paramount consideration guiding the Court’s assessment and the adoption of appropriate protective measures.
